And the finds weren't bad: 9 wheaties, the oldest being a 1942. 4 canadian pennies 24 shiny 1960-D pennies (not sure why they were mixed in with the rolls) 2009= 6 log cabins, 5 loggers, 14 construction, and 7 presidential years. Also, how much money is a box of the other coin denominations? I know halves are $500, but the others? Oh, one more question: when you buy rolls from the bank would you consider clear wrapped coins better than the paper wrapped ones? The box I bought today surprised me when I opened it because the rolls were the clear plastic ones. Thanks for looking and helping! HH and GL

Roscue2, if my memory is correct, a box of Nickels is $100, Dimes are $250, Quarters and Halves are $500. Someone please correct if I'm wrong.
Pennies are always fun. The only reason I don't search more pennies or dimes is because they are small and difficult for me to see clearly.
As for clear vs. paper, I don't have a preference. I have searched both with success. You might also ask for customer wrapped coins.
Are you looking for error coins along with wheat backs?

Murphy, I would like to look for error coins, but do not know what to look for. I looked for a few of the errors, but haven't seen any that I know of.

Roscue2, try these 3 websites. They all offer a great deal of information. 1) Coppercoins 2) The Lincoln Cent Resource 3) Coneca Also, search this forum. The information you seek has probably already been discussed somewhere here. Don't be afraid to ask questions. I have found the people on this site to be a wealth of knowledge and very easy to talk to.

Another good resource is the book "Strike It Rich With Pocket Change". I always have it open next to me when I'm searching rolls of Lincolns. There are just too many small error varieties to memorize them all. The book has nice detailed photos and tells you exactly where to look.

You are correct cc1628. I forgot about that book, even though I have it with me all the time. The pictures are a great help for us beginners.
