Picked Up Another Collection - Couple Examples

Windycity Valued Member United States 366 Posts	Posted 11/05/2012 10:27 pm I just picked up a collection of about 100 pieces - maybe 1/3rd silver and the rest bronze. Some nice and interesting pieces. I am still learning as I go along but here are couple that I believe are rare for the type. Welcome opinions. First is a Constantine I Bronze from the Nicodemia mint with a reverse showing two turrets above campgate. The second is a Mysia Pergamon Greek coin Head of Athena with a reverse showing coiled serpent and mongram. Report this Post to the Staff

Bing Pillar of the Community United States 4253 Posts	Posted 11/05/2012 10:41 pm If your first coin has a mintmark SMNB it would be RIC VII Nicomedia 90 which is rated as R1 or scarce, but I would not put too much stock in that rating. I have minimal attribution thus far on these so I welcome any opinions and observations. There were a bunch of Gordians in this collection.
