As I go deeper and deeper into the hole, I purchased two upgrades for my 7070 set tonight. After all of the coins arrive it will still be missing 6 coins and in need of 10 upgrades.

The 1837 No Stars Half Dime is not independently recognized by the 7070 album. However, I have been waiting for a decent example for my type set to fill this hole. It is a 2 year type and harder to find than other early Seated half dimes. To me it seems synonymous with the famous 1796 No Stars Quarter Eagle, a highly desired type that everyone desires who does not have their head in the sand. Here is the coin! What do you guys think is it original or not? I am wondering what the white mark on the reverse above HALF is doing there. I'm in the hole for almost $200 for this coin but can return it within 2 weeks.

The second coin is a Braided Hair Cent with what I believe is at least AU and a strong eye appeal. I'm not sure if the coin is lightly cleaned or something..

That no stars dime is nice acquisitions. It appears the cent seems a little too light in color for my tastes, probably an old cleaning.

I want one of those "no stars" Half Dime or Dime, but they are up there in price.

I am halfway decent on grading, but as far as cleaned/orignal goes...not so good.

Really nice Half Dime and Large Cent!

I see nothing to say those are cleaned. The penny is a high grade and it not being super deep chocolate brown does not surprise me. The coin has not been handled directly a lot even given its age.

Two very nice pick ups!

silvercoin the 7070 is 76 coins, unless you do the gold page to then its 86 coins. I have actually seen some older 7070's that only had 72 holes.

Thanks for the feedback about the Half Dime. How would you grade the coin judging from the photos? I may send it in for certification at some point and was wondering what you think the ballpark is.

I think the Half Dime is probably an AU-58 because it looks like there is light rub on the high spots of the coin. The Large cent I am not sure about as there are so many standards when it comes to classic copper coins like this

I really like the No Stars Half Dime! It looks really original to me. Don't know enough about early copper to speculate. Congrats, it looks like your type set is coming together quickly.
