Hello all. While on vacation in Canada a few weeks back I picked up some coins of course! I'm from the U.S. and have always collected the CA coins I receive in change. This was the first time I sought out CA coins. Of course I got loonies and toonies and nickles. Then I sought out a coin shop and picked up this gorgeous 1951 silver dollar. It has some splotchy toning on the obverse which I like. Just a great shiny uncleaned coin. I have a new appreciation and passion for CA coins now and can't wait to begin this new chapter in collecting! Also, Halifax and St John are AWESOME cities!

That's a pretty nice p/up. Much better souvenir than a t-shirt.

Yes it was MUCH better than a t-shirt! I really like the modern "poppy" $1 coins with the colored poppys. I also really like CA large cents from the late 1800's/early 1900's. I'm always thrilled to find a fairly inexpensive line of coins that I really love!

well now you have gone and done it haven't you
I started off with a couple of Canadian coins and liked em.
I now have an album full of them and more that need to be put in albums
Once you start on these coins it will be hard to stop
