A friend of mine at the bank just received a batch of new 20 dollar bills today . I am going down to check but what should I check for as I do not know too much about bills.

Just ask them if they have any of the new 20's. They'll have a plasticy feel to them, much different than the old ones.

They are the new 20 dollar polymere bills in crispy stacks from the mint I think.
