Corinth-Stater

Hey all... not been about so much on the forums recently since I have been working hard and have had some other projects on the go...

Despite the work money has been tight (I bought some diamonds and have had to put money aside for a holiday in December) but I have been keeping my eyes open for an AR stater with pegesus and Athena helmeted... For about £300 there are many nice ones but I wanted to pay about half that...

So when I saw this one on Vcoins today I snapped it up... it isn't a perfect example (the details arent perfect) but it is centred and a fair example for the sort of money I wanted to spend.

Love the Pegasus!

But Athena isn't looking to pretty...
Smoothing

Although I would have bought the coin for the Pegasus alone...
Smoothing isn't the best...
Why do do this

I would buy for the price. That looks like a nice coin to me (smoothing or not). I think you got a good deal. Congrats.

Thanks all, it looked a fair deal to me so I am glad you agree it was worth it :) and this was a coin I have been looking to add to my collection since I first took a look at ancient coins.

LOVE the reverse dUK! nice coin!

in case in not the only one who didn't know what the "koppa" symbol was, wikipedia...

Quote:
Koppa or Qoppa (Ϙ, as a modern numeral sign: ) is a letter that was used in early forms of the Greek alphabet, derived from Phoenician qoph . It was originally used to denote the /k/ sound, but dropped out of use as an alphabetic character in favor of Kappa (Κ).

A very decent seller imo. You did not have any confirmation that you actually bought the coin when you did ?

ahh I found the order in my account and fould the coin in vcoin by doing shops by country (I remembered it was a swiss company and there are only three)

The invoice had gone into my junk... but they did receive my order... and the payment didnt go through since someone has been freudelently trying to use my account... this issue I have got sorted but they cancelled my card and another is pending.

There were a series of charged from minicab companies (I drive my own car and dont use cabs) which have been refunded to me :)

The coin shows as "sold" (hopefully to me) so I sent an email explaining I still want it and if there is any issue with the payment I will find an alternative method of payment...

If they are patient enough to wait till I receive my new card then I will be able to try again...
