A shame, maybe.....but, that's the way life goes. Everything and everybody comes and everything and everybody goes. That's why there's a book (currently in print and ready for purchase) entitled "What To Do With Grandaddy's Coins." The book tells our heirs (or whoever ends up with our prized collections) how to dispose of the goods without getting gypped out of too much of the value of the goods in the process. It's one of the more sobering, self-realization enforcing reality checks I've had in some time.

Indeed it is, Freddy. What some would call a "wake-up call". As you say, nothing and no one lasts forever... and that's probably the way it should be.

Any of us who collect coins and / or bullion need to take a close look at what we think should happen to this stuff once we are gone. Having a plan is good but putting it to paper, all signed, sealed, dated, and delivered is better... a LOT better. Got a will? Got a trust? These are things that we should all look into and sooner rather than later, as we never know when our time will run out... and you don't have to be old for that to happen!
