What do you guys think this grades? Has it been cleaned or is it original? And what would be a fair price to pay for something like this?

For some reason I love this bad boy.

hmmm, maybe dipped and starting to retone? Something like that I wonder why it wasn't slabbed unless there is some issues with it and so the person cracks it out. Also be careful of fakes

High AU. Lots of chatter on the reverse above the eagle.Don't know .... looks cleaned and re-toned to me. The fact that it is not slabbed has me suspicious.

Still a lovely coin, better than many of mine.

It is a beautiful example of an early seated half. Nice toning, high AU coin that shows some halos around the stars noting an old cleaning. The price would be on the high end for a "problem" coin but the only problem I see is it's not in your collection yet. I would love to have it too.

Yeah I think it's beautiful, I just am not good at detecting cleanings, whether recent cleanings or an old one. I wouldn't want to add a problem coin to my collection.

Anyone else think it's cleaned?

Count me on that list. I would not expect such subtle colors on that coin, that old. Either it should somehow be perfectly preserved - having been taken care of since Day One - or far more heavily-toned.

, an old cleaning. Not particularly harsh, IMO.

NICE strike and beautiful color. (Maybe a bit over-priced though?)
