48penny New Member Canada 3 Posts	Posted 11/16/2012 7:48 pm Hello..... I would greatly appreciate any information anyone may have on a 1948 ERROR Penny I have. Can't seem to find anything like it anywhere. Thanks..... We believe something gouged or in some way prevented the date from being produced as planned at time of stamping. I found this coin in my fathers collection he left me 6 years ago. He had it since the early sixties. Think it may be 1 0f 1? wert Rest in Peace 1988 Posts	Posted 11/16/2012 10:20 pm 48penny..... Take a look at your coin with my software... "A" arrow is (the rough part) the surface of the coin is suppose to be. "B" arrow shows a lower portion of the coin where some thing has gouged out the surface and pushed up against the date causing your weird date effect. Of course I am NO expert, just my opinion.
