I Saw A Commercial For Tarn-X And Laughed At Some Parts

the first part I laughed at the commercial was a lady saying this.

"my grandmothers all silver silverware set was so dirty I was just going to throw it away"

why would you throw away silver just because its dirty? its still worth something because of its silver content.

another part was showing them dipping gold and silver coins in the tarn-x and pretty much removing a caked on layer of dirt or something that couldve easily been photoshopped because of its results

When Tarn-X first came out, in the commercial they dipped an old penny into the solution and it turned pink. In the commercial I've linked below she dips a JFK half dollar towards the end of the spot. It just makes me cringe. Around 1970, my mother brought a bottle home and I couldn't wait to dip a penny in it. I can imagine all the families sitting around great grandpas coin collection giving it a Tarn-X sponge bath.

did they not know that dipping coins in that stuff actually hurts the products theyre using it on?
