This was part of a world lot I recently acquired, and I know nothing about ancient coins. I suspect this is an Iranian coin, but I would appreciate someone shedding some light on this thing... I am not sure it could be a couple things. Weight would appreciated. It does appear to have text Persian? It could be also an Indian Copper "dump " coin. 20.0g or so? I do suspect the coin is not "ancient" but medieval, and Islamic.

Interesting looking coin. The only thing I can say is that it looks like it might be Islamic. If you rotate the first image about 90 degrees to the right the center image looks like an urn. Wish I could be of more help but these type of coins have always be very difficult for me to attribute.

In my opinion, time is also money, I think I will stop investing time in this piece, and put it out on ebay, with 99 cents and no reserve. If there is lots of activity, then the people who have the knowledge deserve the coin - if it does not sell, it will go into a world coin lot that I routinely hand out to kids at coin shows. Thanks for looking and trying to help.

Just a follow up - traded it for a pint of beer... we both were happy...
