I dont have anything of worth, but on the bank subject: I like to collect coins, therefore I like to be able to see my collection. At any point, I can get up and go have a look at *everything* in that collection.

I know what you mean about your coins being a distraction. Maybe try keeping them with you and using some self control as to when you play with them. The other thing I do is only use the funds in my PayPal account to buy coins or coin accessories. I transfer a set amount each month and if I need more, I have to raise the funds by selling something, kinda like doing a swap.

ECS, I do the same thing, I call it "Sideways movement". For example, I sell a few DVD/Bluray movies I am not interested in anymore to buy some coins, or recently, I sold all of my $20/$20 RCM coins, and converted them into Silver Maples. Sideways movement. Sell one entertainment/consumer good to finance the purchase of another. As long as you don't figure you'll miss/want to re-buy the sold item, it's a smart strategy.

Well, if you are like me, you focused your collecting after getting a bit of everything at first. Why not have a do over on some early purchases? One of the benefits of our hobby is an almost complete lack of depreciation!

For storage how do you currently have them?

If theyre in 2x2s you can get binder pages for them and put them in there which helps with knowing where everything is instead of having a bunch of boxes laying around. Great for looking at them as well
