Hi. I have some questions about this 1998-P dime I have. I wanted to know if there is anything wrong with it. I am still learning how to identify coin errors(kind of tricky for me). I have circled the areas I have questions about: #1 Is the flame on the torch touching the "S", and if so is it normal? #2 Does the flame to the right of that one have a split in it, and is that normal also? #3 Is "NUM" doubled? If you can see anything else wrong with it would you please tell me so that I may learn more about what to recognize. Here are some pics. Please look at the reverse of the coin and tell me what you think. Thanks!
What I can tell you was learned from this forum. The NUM appears to be Machine Doubling. Common. The issue with the flames cannot be answered by myself. You'll have to wait for someone else. My guess is that it's of no concern.
