I found this penny sifting through my purse change and noticed it was odd. Does anyone have any info on this and estimated value? Thanks! :)

Interesting coin but pics are way too dark...looks rotated double struck on the reverse but that doesn't explain the obverse although my first impression was PMD..

I reserve comment awaiting pics I can see...

Sorry but your coin was sandwiched between 2 coins and pressed together. It is not a mint error.

Yep, I agree with post strike damage. These pieces can be deceiving to many who don't specialize in errors.

Unfortunately, your coin has been damaged and it is commonly called a "smash job" or "garage job". Your coin was in the middle of two other cents and then the 3 coin stack was either put in a vise or whacked with a hammer to create the impressions of the Lincoln Memorial on both sides. Overlapping damage on the rims is present on both sides and the reverse impression was so deep that it cut the copper plating which caused the zinc core to corrode(greyish-white areas on the reverse is zinc oxide). Another indicator of chicanery is that the lettering is in an incuse mirror orientation, lettering from a genuine double strike would be in relief just like a normally struck coin. It is also worth nothing that an obverse/reverse-reverse/reverse filpover double strike is an impossible error, there is simply no way for that to happen.
