denco7,
You know I am a newbie,
I think I understand what a COA is. Maybe
May I please ask what is a OGP?
All I know for sure, is I showered them to a local coin shoppe, and the owner offered me $125 cash up, for the pair.
Thanks

Sorry ...... OGP is Original Government Packaging. Basically the original box and COA it came with. He will pay you $125, this is what he will sell it for

Misterpostman- I have 2 Barber half dollars that look crappy with black stuff on it and a white strip across the middle just like your coins. I was also thinking it was taped at some time or another. Is the baking soda/hot water on top of aluminum foil a somewhat safe way of cleaning? Although we always hear to never clean these coins they are just unappealing with that look. But I got them for half price so I couldnt pass it up.

Denco7,
Thanks. I don't have the box, etc.
The 2 coins are the only coins I have, that are high MS.
Just plan to keep them to look at and enjoy.
Now I am going to spill my insides.
Pays to make friends with banks, bank tellers, etc., etc.

I just added 14 Silver Maples to my stash for $300 Canadian. Around here that's the best deal I've seen.

Always looking for ways to get some free silver into my stash. Got this from ebay for $86 total cost. Seller pictures not good, no reverse pics either. I am thinking I can clean these up a bit, sell off most of the lot and end up with at least a free Morgan. Of course, time isn't free, but I enjoy the chase and the research, etc. Can't wait to get these in the mail This was the only picture in the seller's listing

In response to Mullen's question: I think it would be worth it to clean common date coins that are very dark. Once they have had a soak, just gently wipe away them grime with your fingers. Good luck
