I like 2014 a lot better from what I've seen. I feel like the 2013s while they had great potential with what they represented will fall far short when the designs are picked

I'm not a big ATB fan but I do like the 2014 Florida, Everglades and the 2013 Maryland, Ft. McHenry.

Hey look, I'm at 600. Hooray.

Jbuck, I'm gunning for you.

I really do not like the presentation of 2013's SD and OH. Of the two the representation of SD to me will be the most displeasing of all the ATB series to date. At the scale of the coin, the workman at the end of Jefferson's nose would look like something that needs to be wiped of the face of a 2 or 3 year old. Further, at true coin scale the workman at the side of Washington would be indistinguable. IMO it far surpasses the worst of the series to date and the standards will really have to fall to have another coin make it look better.

Ohio's design really should have been rethought and submitted to the panel well before now. Now it is to late to go through the submission process and we will be subjected to a lack luster coin design. However, I do wonder if this was in fact done and we just haven't heard about it at this point in time. Now is not the time to start the process over again.

As a whole, all of 2014's recommended choices are well worth being put onto a coin. Overall, I'm impressed with the estetic rendering for Florida and highly like all the other presentations.

For 2013 the selection made for Nevada and New Hampshire are each quite worthy to be put on a coin. The comments that the panel made about Maryland with an aerial view do seem appropriate.

For once, I really don't have too many negative things to say about the mints designs.

As far as Mount Rushmore goes, I would have thought it would be the simplest choice of the whole ATB program, choice #1. If they go with the chosen alternative, it'll be ridiculed as the "nose-picking" quarter. (I said it first!)

Just because it's an iconic image doesn't mean we have to go with a "unique perspective" to be all arty about it.
