Any Barber coin is underrated, I try to get as many in ex-fine or better as I can afford.

I would say that Ikes and SBAs are very underated. There are few dealers that have quality pieces of these coins. Franklins are still not expensive, but I think they are going to be one of the next hot series.

Look in your red books at the price for the Eisenhower "Ike" dollar. Gosh, if they didn't have "One Dollar" printed on them, I think they would be giving them away. You can pick up slabed MS65 or better examples for under ten bucks on ebay. That is just incredible!!!

Brettwp, You say that you can pick up slabbed MS65 or better examples of Eisenhower "Ike" dollars for under ten bucks on ebay. Show me a link, please. My ebay search shows MS65 going for $16-20. Dovid

In my opinion, Half Cents, as a series, are vastly under valued... ESPECIALLY when compared to the large cent From what I have gathered, Half Cents, by the end, were seldom used. They were more prone to melting, since people did not use/like them as much. Unfortunately, after I typed this up, I could not convert it will to here, so I have provided the image (which you will have to enlarge) Or click the bottom link. Image Insert: http://www.oicoins.com/halfcent.txtAnd that is why I believe Half Cents to be the most under valued series. Now demand plays a big part of a coins value. They are a lot of large cent collectors out there, not nearly as many Half CentSecond in line, Silver Commems (not the new stuff). Jordan

Interesting take on the Half Cents, Jordan. And speaking of Half Cents, here's a nice one (excuse the lint...I need to do a better job in the photography department!)

Very nice Half Cent! Those are what I would like to hoard. I would also like to point out the coins of mintage in the 50,000 range and under, AU/UNC Price: 1832 $115/170 1849 $130/215 1850 $120/250 1854 $100/145 1855 $100/145 1856 $115/175 1857 $155/200 1909 S VDB 1¢, nearly 500,000 were made 1916-D 10¢, 264,000 were made You cannot touch one of those in Good, for what you can get an UNC in one of the above dates. But that still goes back to supply and demand. When will the demand catch up to the supply of these? AND if you dare to compare similiar mintages in VG/VF/AU... 1804 Large Cent (95,500)$1000/$3000/$10,000 1803 Half Cent (92,000) $52/$185/$925

I agree with scoutjim, 2 and 3 cent are really undervalued. Especially the 3 cent nickel.
