I have started adding some higher quality large notes to my collection. What is the most you would pay for a note?

I'm to the point now where I have most of the easy stuff....I've also found that the fine graded notes, sure don't look as good any more....Not sure if I'll add large type...or look for more national bank notes.....$250 has been my tops

I've gone as far as paying just over $1000 for a $5 Porthole Silver Cert in a PMG holder. In the future, I plan on paying the same for a nice $2 battleship. But my average is $150-300 on any given day, spend that much on a lot of nationals.

"What is the maximum you would pay for note"

That's a very hard question for me to answer, I don't think I've gotten to that point yet in my collecting.

I can tell you what the most was that I've ever paid for what I already have. For Small Size notes it would be
$ 1500.00. For Large Size notes it was $ 1650.00

I can tell you that $500 is the most lI've ever paid for a note. It's a 50c Perforated Fractional (FR-1310) in CU-63 (PMG). I needed it to complete my fractional type set and it's probably at the limit of what I would or could spend. When I look at collecting a series or set I look at what the keys will cost and decide from there.

Well the two notes I want the most will cost me anywhere from $1,000 to $2,000 if not a bit more. I will be slowly saving up for them.

Just as a matter of disclosure, I just paid $465 for a 1899 Fr. 233 Black Eagle graded 63 EPQ by PMG.
