Try 1941, which said on the note when it was printed.

This thread has a 1935 Bank of Communications note posted by trdhrder.

According to Wikipedia, the Bank of Communications was one of the main bank issuers of the Republic. I don't think the Japanese occupiers used that name as a puppet bank.

The American Bank Note Company has long produced banknotes and postage stamps; you can find their name on paper money from many countries.
