Aww...I don't feel well... its got to be that KUSHAN FEVER I think I can elaborate a little on this coin... I have seen this described as a 3rd century AD AE25 Bronze unit, with the obverse, Kartukeyya (the god of war) standing with a spear and a peacock at this left foot. Surrounded by a Brahmi Legend. The reverse features the wife Kartikeyya with her hand on her hip holding a silk garment. ...Pretty decent condition I might add.

This one lacks a number on the obverse. Can you comment on the significance of the ones with 2 or 3?

I couldn't find information on the difference in number but I did find out that the ones without the number are generally described as "late series, 300-340 AD." There where If I am not mistaken, 3 series of the coin, and some divisions among the issues with different objects being described at the feet of the Gods. Peacocks, Flower planters and the like. I hope this tiny bit of information adds to the greater understanding of this coinage.

Here are two with 2 and 3 in the upper left corner but I still don't know what the numbers mean. I assume the blank ones are considered 'one' but that is an assumption. Mitchiner lists variations like this but does not explain details.

What I find interesting about these is the fusion of Greek and Indian style. There are subtle classical influences on Kartikeyya's pose.

I find the script on type 3 post to be very beautiful. As of late, I have been interested in fused cultures. There are not just a few in Central Asia and India. These eastern coins are a real history lesson. Doing background reading, the amount of information and numbers of different peoples, its a bit wild.
