When it comes to doing my 7070 album I'm a cheapskate. Saw this in a bargain box for $11.00 and could not say no because I needed and it was below melt.

I like finding coins with holes because I don't have to feel bad about wearing them on a chain. Would be tough to bring myself to drill an otherwise intact coin. This is a nice one!

Very nice details, and great look. An excellent slot filler!

I also bought some holed and counterstamped coins to fill hard slots in my 7070. They tended to have much better details than I could afford in an intact coin, which let me learn (and admire) the type for a reasonable price.

I have gradually replaced them, except for the 1829 Half Dime and 1849 Seated dollar, both of which have AU details and are very attractive. Though I will replace them someday, it's going to take substantial investments to get the same eye appeal in perfect specimens!

p.s. I also love Love Tokens as jewelry. I am always looking for love tokens with my initials on them. I could never deface a classic coin, but I am happy to rescue one that was defaced 100 years ago. ;-)
