Hello,

I have this coin, but it weight only 9 grams instead of 10 grams. It is silver but heavly cleaned, maybe because it was in Manila bay for long time?

Does anybody have more info about this interesting coin?

Thanks.

These were in the Philippine Treasury when the Japanese invaded. U.S. and Philippine troops at the direction of the Philippine government dumped the silver coins in the bay to prevent the enemy troops from getting them.

Pretty interesting piece. I'd love to get one being an American who once lived over there. IndianGoldEagle hit it right on the head. Most the Commemorative Peso pieces were also dumped in the bay. Was most likely Salvaged and "restored" as a tourist/collector historical piece

Very interesting piece! I recently picked up a Peso at my local coin club from the Manila Hoard. I am only the third person to own it since it left the bottom.

Mine is unrestored and corroded, but is a very interesting part of my collection.

I wouldnt worry about the Authenticity of the coin, Its pretty common for some loss after all those years at the bottom of the salty Manila Bay.
It actually looks pretty good overall for being down in the deep

This one looks far better than most of the salvaged coins.
