I don't see anything that says fake on this one. They were crudely struck.

What is percent of silver in this coin? I didn't find any information about that. When I do silver ping test it is not sound like silver.

And, that's precisely why forgeries of coins from the era of hand-worked dies are more dangerous--a forger's sloppiness can be easily misinterpreted as style idiosyncracies and production values of the original coins. I'm working up a comparison picture, which I'll post soon...

I have zero expertise in these Haiti coins, but from collecting coins of this era, I spend a lot of time looking at their details. Something I noticed at first were the surfaces, which lack the roughness of the dies, flow lines, cracks, clashing, and flan defects of typical 19th C. coins. If there's anything consistent with copies of this era are the "crude handwork" that nonetheless betrays modern tooling. I put together a picture of your coin against a genuine example from a well-known auctionhouse. To my eyes, I noticed stylistic differences such as finer hair details, shape of the stars, type style, missing details, and that Phrygian cap--roughly consistent across years of this issue. What do you think?

I'm no pro, but I would have to say fake. There are just to many details that are missing or lacking from the real one. Also, look at the signature underneath the bust. It is touching the "N". That is what really bothers me.
