DOVBLE TOVRNOIS and three French fleur-de-lys on the reverse, but I was looking for Henri III on the obverse for the date of 1588. Actually François Duke of Montpensier. . However, the first coin I am still having some difficulty with, I had looked for similar coins with the rampant lion beforehand and based most of my research around the fact that it appears to be dated 1545 but still cannot confirm its origin. Roderick New Member United States 34 Posts	Posted 12/29/2012 03:56 am To be exact, the first coin is a double tournois of the Duchy of Montpensier (rather than the Kingdom of France). The arms on the reverse are not those of France but those of a junior branch of the House of Bourbon-France, those of the Duke of Montpensier. The baton across the fleur-de-lys differentiate these arms from those of France. Report this Post to the Staff
