Even though I have the 7070 spot filled for the "Wartime Jefferson", this was at a really good price. I have read that SEGS is good at variety attribution, and I didn't have one of their slabs yet. Do you care to give this one a try, as far as the grade/variety and SEGS as a whole?

Thanking you in advance!

I have used SEGS for certification for well over 100 USA & World Error coins in the past and found about 8% were labeled wrong (listing a 20 Centavos as a 10 Centavos, etc.) and place the correction on the holder myself. I have also found numerous mis-labeled coins on the internet from all the top TPG Services, and assume it's a common mistake.

Outside of that, I think their grading is very close to the top TPG Services, but at a more reasonable price..

One of my primary concerns of late are some of the smaller brass/? coins certified about 10 years back are starting to leave a brown stain on the smaller coin insert holding the coin.

I've been meaning to contact SEGS about this problem and have them re-holdered, but, as a professional procrastinator, keep putting it off.

My vision is not that good for grading and need a microscope and variety book to locate many varieties, with that said I can't give a variety type on your coin, but believe your coin almost made a "Full Steps" designation, and be surprised if it had...
Still a nice looking coin.

Nice coin which probably looks very nice in hand.
High grade wartime nickels are quite attractive with silver luster.
I doubt it would get full steps designation but it may go MS64

Nice nic! Had to revisit this thread to make sure it wasn't "Contesst & Giveaways".
I found mine (stg. C) quite worn, w/just the gouge.

Here may be an "unattributed" one up for auction right now;

It has the same die cracks on Jefferson's Head...although I think mine looks better! ...but this one has 5FS.
