Just curious if I should spend the money for grading. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Mk, do coins such as this often prove to be fakes?

Prices range from $100-170 before you hit MS. I think you are AU 55, definitely ot MS, so I would say not worth grading as well, but put it in a solid holder yourself

I think the coin may grade EF-45. I would probably leave the coin in the holder that it's already in.

XF-40-45 is my opinion on this one and I don't think I would bother getting it graded, I would just leave it in the airtite its in now and enjoy it

Awesome coin!

If you have your heart set on grading, you could always find a local, certified pcgs or NGC dealer, and they can typically get you great prices in bulk submissions.

Personally, I would not have it certified, but if that's your flavor, you can avoid the huge cost...

Being new to this I jumped the gun and subscribed to pcgs. I'm going to submit the coin along with a few others. Thank you for all the comments and suggestions.

Be sure to let us know how they grade it. It's a great coin, no matter what

you dont need to send this one right now. now that you have the subscription you can hang tight until you get some more choice selections to send for the grading. And personally, I like the dark look. It gives the coin character. Why should everything be a shiny minnow jewel? some personality coins that look at you and say "Hey Jack, I've been around the block and you'd better believe I'll lay some tales on you" are a great piece to any collection.

enjoy it man, and have fun!
