Is this advised in any way? I am developing a taste for Canadian silver 50c,25c pieces. Is this a good route to go for a pure bullion stacker?

My stack doesn't include 50c but I do carry dimes and quarters as a way to add fractional silver oz's to my stack. Very common.

This one is a toughie based on the way you wrote your question. If pure bullion is the only goal, no. But as you stated you developed an affinity towards Canadian 25 & 50 cent pieces, so it sounds like you want to expand your collecting to me. This isn't a bad thing, because as you probably are already aware, the 25 cent pieces minted between the early 20's and mid to late 60's are 80% silver with one or two years at 50% silver. The 50 cent pieces are 80% silver from 1920 - 1966(67)ish (check the exact year). So, the answer to your question is follow your heart/gut/desires because in this case there doesn't seem to be a downside to me. Good luck!

So why do Morgan's cost more?
Also, recommend another foreign currency with at least 80% silver content?

Quote: So why do Morgan's cost more? Morgans if I'm not mistaken are the most collected/sold coins, plus they are 90% silver. More often you can buy Morgan culls for just the silver content. I can get them locally from a dealer for about $24 US. Quote:

I'm not into world coins like many on this forum, I knew about the Canadian coins as I was raised in Niagara Falls, NY and went to Canada every week for years. However a website that you can check on is http://www.(131231) Not Allowed - Auto-Removed or a book called Krause's Standard Catalogue of World coins. You now know everything I know on the subject so if you need more help perhaps another may jump in. Have a Happy Day!

I like Mexican silver. Beautiful coins. A LOT were made over a very long time - since 1535. Even the more common recent issues are seldom available at spot, and living in an area with a large Hispanic population, Mexican silver coins will always have a market. My LCS can't keep Mexican Libertads in stock even with a nice premium. So if you run across Mexican silver coins at or near spot, snap them up.

24 or 25 for Morgans is a steal. I think I will check with some LCS to see if I can find anything in that range.
