Just bought it today but its not in hand yet. Alexander tetradrachms, Athenian Owl coins, all that flashy stuff aside, it has possibly one of the most attractive, detailed busts I've seen on an ancient (Tanit, not the horse head-although the horse looks nice too). Too bad it's a small coin though; seems like a design that was made (and would look excellent) for larger coins. Also want to give thanks to a certain member on here (you may step forward if you'd like ) for helping me expand into ancient Carthaginian coins by sending me my first one (not this coin). While I won't be making it a specialty of mine for now, I will be more on the lookout for any cheap ones that catch my interest.

Also if anyone can help on the attribution for it that would be great. I'm pretty sure its Sear 6526 but I'm not 100% sure, since there is a very similar one: Sear 6524. 6526 has Tanit wearing an earring and necklace but 6524 doesn't. Reason I think it is more likely 6526 is because I see what looks like a necklace on Tanit, but I'm not completely certain that is a necklace.

Zeugitania, Carthage

Obv: Bust of Tanit facing left and wreathed with corn
Rev: Bust and neck of horse facing right

17mm wide

That's a nice coin. I saw that one for sale.

The obverse is definitely nicely detailed!

Did you get this off the "bay". If so, I too think I saw it and was tempted by it. Nice pick up.

Nope, vcoins. Although the seller also sells coins on ebay so he could have had this one listed on ebay as well.
