First I'll explain. When I buy coins online, I tend to look at things with less than perfect pictures. You can get fairly decent deals occasionally, as long as you set price limits and don't risk too much. It's the thrill of the hunt folks.

Bought this one today. The pictures are not great, but for some reason they sang to me. I only paid roughly F-12 money for it, so the risk is "small"

How would you guys grade this one? I know it's not ideal with the pictures, but what do you think my ceiling is? I'll put up better pictures of it when I have it in hand.

I for one, am excited.

I do this also on the bay. I think you will be very pleased when you get this coin, to me at least it appears to be possibly XF or better. Fingers crossed!

I also agree w/ XF. The obverse looks great, but the stars may be weaker on the reverse. Here's to hoping it's a WINNER!
Rest in Peace

There are some unscrupulous people who take "bad" images to mask or overshadow "issues". Sometimes it pays off...like this one. It appears to be on the "up and up", on taking some closer images when you get it.

here is the picture of one for sale from China through a site I know of...this is scary to me for lots of reasons...use this as a gauge for your coin to spot any similarities or note real differences so you know you have the real deal

You guys are basically right about where I was. I'm not too worried about authenticity, this seller normally sells coins, all types, with the same type of pictures. They were selling several other lower grade common date shields at the same time as this one.
