I've posted about my bag of coins in the US coins section. I don't know if most of you cross over or not, but I basically obtained a bag of coins. This is certainly one of the most intriguing to me. The thing is incredibly small, and I can't find a lot about it. I honestly can't believe someone hasn't lost every one of those things in the near hundred years that have passed since its mint. Placed next to the massive US penny for size comparison .

Coin used for very small change. If you want a perspective, there are 8 reales in one peso. That would equal 32 of these coins in one peso. These were issued right before the collapse of Guatemala's economy in the early 1900's.

I guessed they literally coined hyperinflation. That is cool though, its size is pretty amazing.

I really like the design of the colonial 1/4 real. It is simplistic because of the size. If they were not so small in hand, definitely an area of specialization. Mexico about 1800 and Central American Republic, 1/4 rs are really neat and available in high grade. Picked up a half dozen or so of the Guatemala 1/4s this year for $1 each.
