My bank just happened to have two rolls of Ike dollars so I'm checking them out. Is this a DDR? Check out the S in States and the E Pluribus Enum letters for me please.

Yes! its a 72D DDR.
Definitely split serifs on the S and PL of Pluribus.

Check this CONECA site for which one you might have.

Thanks chuckster for the link. I'm having a hard time understanding how to read the information on that site.

I've been working on my photo skills and I can get closer images of the split on the letters.

There are only 2 listed for the 1972D DDR and one of them is also a DDO.

Can you take a closeup of the number 1 of the date, especially the top ( see if its tripled?)

The other one has a die chip by the O of OF on the reverse in a later die state (D).

* Dr Wiles posts info on each coin with respect to Die Variety, Stage, Die State and Die Markers if any.

Example: RDV # 1- Reverse Die Variety # 1
Stage A (EDS-Early Die State Etc)
Stage B (MDS- Middle Die State- Die scratches on left wing ETC)

Hope this helps.

If no match, you might have a new DDR and you should consider sending you coin to Dr Wiles for attribution etc.
(IMHO)

Info is on the CONECA site.

Congrats again on a real nice Ike DDR!

Here are some pictures of the obverse. It's really hard to capture the die cracks coming off the letters in TRUST but there are some. The one on the "S" is visible in the picture.

The O in the OF seems to have something in it's top left area.

I would say thats it!

1972D DDR-001- Stage D- Die Chip outside of upper O of OF.

Here are a few pics of a couple of 1972D DDR-001's that I've found and the die chip by the letter O of OF for comparison.

*Also check the bottom of the Eagles right wing for die crack. Coin # 2 has them on mine. Pic below also.

Coin # 1- Letter O of OF Rev.

I'm pretty excited. This is my first DDR ever.

Chuckster, does CONECA have any pictures? Or is there only those brief descriptions?
