Maybe it's the photos but I don't see a difference.

Because they're not much circulated.

Truly, that's it; I see these occasionally as old as 1995, where they've been just sitting around and haven't really been used and haven't toned. I suspect that at some point in these years, Lincoln's portrait was "freshened up" (sort of the way his wart disappeared when the large-head bills began and some of his wrinkles disappeared when we moved to colorized bills), and the result is this more detailed-looking, sharp, clear bust.

Cool thanks I'm still trying to figure out how often struck through coins from mint cello get found from collectors.

Please explain . . . mint cello? My first thought was "Monticello," but now all I can see is a Peppermint Patty playing a string instrument.

Mint cello is a coin cut from a Mint Set, they come in a cellophane package that includes the P and D .01 - .05 - .10 - .25 - .50 and some things the dollar.

The LMC on top has what looks like PMD on the obverse in the 6 o'clock position. The LMC on the bottom has a wider rim or edge on the left side. Maye they look different because of different dies.

There's always room for Cell-O.
