I would appreciate any info possible about this medal, including a link to a forum that is devoted to exonumia. This piece is 2-3/8" diameter, about 1/8" thick. On the front it reads: "F.A\ Buxhovden, Russ: Imp: Super: Excub: Praefect: Adi: Castr: Plur: Ordin: Eques" The back reads: "Custodi, Administratori, Varsaviae, Nec Non Provinciarum, Quas Praesidia Obsident Russica, Regni Poloniae, Optimo, Grata Varsavia. MDCCXCV" (1795)
this medal was made to honor the russian general (baltic-german ancestry) Friedrich Wilhelm von Buxhövden. In 1795, he was governor of warsaw (poland). Made by F.J.Regulski I think, it looks like this?
