I just bought three 10oz Engelhard bars. One is the "tall, Eagle" type and it's the same approximate dimensions of other typical 10oz bars (J-M, Heraeus, etc)
that I have. APMEX shows this type here--- http://www.apmex.com/Product/62743/...99_Fine.aspx
The other two are the "wide, struck, logo back" style. They're in "landscape mode," smaller in length and width but considerably thicker. APMEX shows this type here---
http://www.apmex.com/Product/43502/...99_Fine.aspx
My guess is that the thicker two are older than the upright, "typical" sized one. Can anybody fill me in on the ballpark production years of these two 10oz bar styles?
Thanks in advance for your help.

I just spotted those Eagle versions on ebay recently for first time, and they seem to be relatively new, as I believe the others bars to be....

@amaths---Thanks for that reference---that's a good info source. Interesting to see how many different varieties of the 10oz bar Engelhard put out
over the years. I had no idea until now how many there are.

It turns out that the bars I just bought are one of the "C-Series, tall, Eagle/Flag logo" (2nd from the top) and one each of the "C-Series, wide, stamped,
logo back" and "P-Series, wide, stamped" (2nd and 3rd from the bottom). Too bad that website doesn't have any info about production dates.

If anybody knows anything about ballpark production years for these bars, I'd love to hear it.

Cool looking bar.

I'd rather spend $320 at Goldmart.com for a 10 oz Englehard bar (which are older) than a 10 oz Englehard Bar with a eagle on it from APMEX, which costs 366 bucks.

$46 bucks is $46...
