I just got my 2005 mint set yesterday. I really don't see much difference even with the satin finish. Overall, it's a nice set. Would you recomend getting additional sets for resale?

I have occasionally purchased mint/proof sets for resale, but overall, you probably won't get much more than you paid for it on ebay, and probably less. So I wouldn't strongly recommend it.

Thanks Susan, I was remembering about how the prices soared for the 2004 sets. I'm not sure if the bison nickel would somehow enhance the value and demand for the new mint set or the fact it is the first time with a satin finish.

I personally think that the 2005 set has a lot going for it. While the U.S. Mint has not overlooked this, there will be a tremendous aftermarket for this set. It may not spike today, but look for this set to steadily move up in the coming years. TV channels are selling these sets by the truck load.
The Bison nickel has wide appeal, and the simple fact that we are returning to the dead design in 2006, this set has everything it needs to move upwards. This is the perfect set to "hype" on ebay, TV, Sunday newspapers, and just about anyplace else.
If the Mint doesn't flood the market too death, this set will go up and up.

What are these selling for on TV? I don't get Coin Vault anymore. I too would agree that this set has a lot going for it. I may buy 5 more sets, one to bust open and the rest for resale. This would be the first time for me taking a gamble and and hoping for the best. I could still kick myself for not buying any of the 1999 silver proof sets!

I am inclined to think that these satin like finish coins could be a similar situation to the Canadian PL coins. And those have different prices than the regular circulation strikes.
