Guys, I'd sure like to get some help with this one. The way to grade a damaged coin just hasn't gelled in my mind. I'd appreciate your opinions as to the grade. Thank you.

Ralph, That is one heck of a dime!!! May even be orig. surfaces,, others may comment on that.....XF DETAILS...I believe.....Damage is not really that bad, and dont kill the eye appeal

Is say XF 45 details with very minor damage. Nice coin

Okay, it would seem you guys that commented all agree on a grade of extra fine, and I think that's what I'll inventory it as (with a notation about the damage) - still don't understand much about grading a damaged coin, but I'll get there eventually. Thanks a bunch.

Leaves look pretty flat, I'm going with VF-30 details on this one. Nice piece of history, great coin.
