Hello,

My first thought is that this appears to be some sort of welding liquid that was dripped upon the coin.

is it possible to test this substance further with some sort of acid test kit to determine if it could possibly be silver solder or some other unknown material?

Solder.This coin was once part of a necklace or bracelet.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...
