Another newp. I picked this one up for a couple reasons, Pegasus and the history of this city. Photo and text is sellers. The coin seems a bit rough to me but it had far more detail than like coins at a higher price. I was going to try to remove the crud on the surface, what are your opinions on trying this? Thought maybe a bath in acetone so that it doesn't change the color, followed by a rise in clear water. Bronze AE 14, BMC Corinth p. 55, 457; cf. BCD Korinth 279 - 281 (various symbols right), F, 1.480g, 11.5mm, 0o, Corinth mint, c. 303 - 287 B.C.; obverse Pegasos flying left, koppa below; reverse ornate trident-head, H left, right field mark off flan. Corinth, on the Isthmus of Corinth about halfway between Athens and Sparta, was the largest city and richest port in ancient Greece. It was known as a "wild" city." At the Temple of Aphrodite, 1000 sacred prostitutes served the wealthy and powerful merchants and officials living in or visiting the city. Korinthiazomai was a Greek word for fornicate. I wouldn't stick the coin in any chemicals other than distilled water or olive oil. Olive oil will darken the coin.
You might want to hold off on cleaning it until you receive the coin. It may look better in hand, you never know.

Good advise, I'll wait on cleaning until I know more about the coin and what I'm doing with them.

This coin, with the patina it has, is quite attractive. Any disturbance of that patina by cleaning will reduce the value of the coin.
Much better to leave 'as is'.

Acetone wont do Anything - I would do nothing to this coin.

This looks like it could be a very attractive coin. You know how some coins just don't photograph right but are great in hand, small seller pics also lead to big smiles when you tear the Jiffy bag open IMHO.

I'm going to go with you experts on this and leave the coin as is. Just thought some of that surface junk would come off easily.

i picked up some coins in similar condition, I gave them a quick dip and work on the some with a platic toothpick...didn't really help much...but didn't hurt either.
