Hi All, I recently got into purchasing silver bars and coins. I've had a lot of trouble getting out during business hours to actually purchase the silver myself, so I was thinking of ordering online. I just wanted to know what your experiences are with ordering online and what you think the best sites in terms of quality and price are. Also a note, I'm from the greater Toronto Area. I noticed a lot of the threads in this forum say good things about APMEX, but their premiums seems a lot higher than other sites I've looked into. The three sites I've looked at are Kitco, PMX and Silvergoldbull, the later being the best priced. I was just wondering if any of you have had experience with these sites and what you thought of them and their product. Thanks

Well. I've never ordered online, but Provident Metals has a low premium. I actually just got my first ounce yesterday, generic silver, but still silver.

The best and most valid answers to your inquiry need to come from CCFers who live in Canada. They're the ones who know the ropes about shipping and getting deliveries to Canadian addresses. Prices and premiums are only part of your problem---USA dealers shipping to Canada is a (I think costly) problematic component of your situation.
That having been said, I'm in New York and owing to peculiar circumstances, I ended up dealing with the Canadian firm Colonial Acres. Their prices were competitive, they treated me right and I recommend them. They even shipped to me in NY for an OK shipping charge.

I'm using Silvergoldbull exclusively... made several orders recently. Great prices, fast and not too pricey shipping, great packing, nice payment options. Highly recommended!

I didn't see that he was in Canada. Well, for anyone in the U.S. that looks at this then my recommendation still stands.

I would like to suggest goldmart.com I just ordered from them, prices were the BEST when I compared 4 sites, and I do believe they ship to Canada.
Also, check out moderncoinmart.com, they seem to have reasonable prices but I don't know if they ship to Canada.
welcome to the community btw and happy PM buying!

SilverTowne is great, and on some items they have free shipping. I'm pretty sure the free shipping includes Canada. Anyway, the do ship to Canada and they are sort of cheap, at least that's something.

the thing with ordering with American online store is, U/S currency via money order/draft/bankwire. Another thing is shipping. I've dealt with Precious metal house before. Back then they had good shipping rate but now, their standard shipping rate is $25. they also don't allow pick up so if you are in GTA, you still have to pay shipping fee. I've never ordered from Kitco that's because I seldom reach their minimum purchase of $3000. SGB does do price match so if you find a good deal, give them a call and they usually price matched it. I dealt with Gatewest and Colonial Acres before but mainly for Numis stuffs. I like them because of cheap shipping and they take credit card payment. I don't think they willing to take paypal or credit card for bullions products and their shipping rate for bullion is higher than the numis stuffs.
