I'm considering this King Attalus III Cistophoric Tet, but I need advice/opinions on it's authenticity. I think the reference for this particular coin is Mionnet 484 or Pinder 122. If authentic, what price tag would you place on it?

I'm not too familiar with these coins, but I've seen a few and I think this one here looks odd. The metal and engraving style looks off. But I could be wrong. Let those that know about these coins to say.

I don't know squat about ancients, but I have been looking at many over the past couple weeks. What strikes me about this coin is that the planchet is so nice and round. Would this type of coin normally be found that way?

I love the design, but it's the flatness that strikes me as possibly wrong.

Great design, but, it seems too good.

The left photo is upside down. Usually people put that side on the right and call it the reverse. I only have two of these and do not pretend to know all the reasonable variations. I am not a fan of the very small cista inside the oddly non-specific leaves. I do not recall one with that much blank field around the cista. The other side seems better but I'd not buy it unless it was from a dealer I think knows better than I do and is trustworthy. $300 if real? Melt value $15 otherwise?

Thanks all. The seller is not anyone with whom I'm familiar, and since I do have some reservations, I think I should pass even though the price is very good. Once again, thanks for everyone's input/opinions.

Me too--there's only a few coins I have seen enough to form an opinion.
