Hello,

Any information about the attached medal will be appreciated.

It looks to me like it has the following lettering:

COR (on the left) and JESV (on the right)

Thanks,
jgd

As you have probably already figured out, it is a Catholic religious medal. Cor Jesu translates to "Sacred Heart of Jesus". It is most likely a medal from The Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus which is a Catholic organization that was founded in Italy in 1894. There is also an all-girls Catholic high school in the St Louis area affiliated with that organization that goes by the name of Cor Jesu Academy.

Well, I read "COR JESV" and it translates as "(Sacred) Heart of Jesus."
The object being held on the "Cor Jesv" side is a representation (?) of the globe. A cross is above the globe and
often this image is superimposed over the heart. Or just the heart with a cross.
On the other side I believe (?) that it is a crown on the head. Can you identify the gender? It might be Mary, especially since blue is associated with her depiction in painting. Quite nicely executed if so.

I looked closely at the figure on the "blue" side and it does appear to be a female.

Thanks very much for your responses.
