I have a Nikon Coolpix S6300, and I can't seem to ever take good close-up coin pictures with it. Any suggestions?

There is a wealth of info in the photography section of this forum. Beside that, macro function, a tripod or copy stand and dedicated lighting is a must.

i have a coolpix also just gotta use the macro setting also use the timer and what the person above said lighting is what makes your pics you could have the best camera in the world and have garbage lighting and your pics will show it. I sometimes use my cellphone for a good bit of mine practice and patients

Don't try to get closer than four inches with that camera.
