Austrian-25-Schilling-Amc

The Allied Military Currency 25 schilling note for Austria is a peculiar note. A 20 schilling note was issued with the other AMC notes. At some point the Allied Military Government in Austria decided a 25 schilling note was necessary. Its design is markedly different than the other Austrian AMC notes. It was not well received in Austria and soon withdrawn from circulation. The 25 schilling note was printed by the USBEP while the other Austrian AMC was printed by Forbes Lithograph and in England.

nice looking piece lettow - Wasnt aware that Military Currency was issued for use in Austria - when compared to other MC notes the 25 schilling denomination seems a bit strange - given that can understand why it was withdrawn

"FUNFUNDZWANZIG" was at first a little misleading to me, because as is typical with German, is three words rolled into one.
'5 and 20' is what it means to non German speakers.
I once had a 50 schilling note, but that was sold many moons ago.
