Just incase anyone is watching any coins from this seller - they are fake, long shot I know but just incase

Described as 'as found', not sure if they mean 'as found in a Bulgarian market' or 'as found on alibarbar website' but they certainly didn't come out of the ground in the UK as is implied.

Not sure what I can post by way of IDing the seller but I'm sure if you search the bay for say...

'High Grade Marcus Aurelius Silver Denarius Roman Coin'

...you shouldn't have trouble finding this low feedback sellers offerings

If anyone wants to bait the seller try asking where they 'found' these, the answer could be amusing

Thanks for the post. Until I know what I am doing, I am sticking to buying from dealers that specialize in the field.

The seller has in the listing info:

Quote:
PART OF MY COLLECTION I'm SELLING TO FUND OTHER COLLECTIONS

Certainly it cannot be "AS FOUND" if it is a fake.
I cannot imagine he would be ignorant of it being fake, and so says it is a "metal detecting find" to cover/add attraction.
Rather like spraying Air-Freshner to hide a bad odour.

Certainly metal detecting finds of Roman coins do crop up in Essex, but this example is not one of them!

I found them, and I don't mind linking to add to the discussion.
At first glance, this group looks oddly similar--like they came from the same source--and I don't mean the ground. "No returns".

I get the feeling this could be a 'flash' seller, might be wrong.

I little bit of real feedback then sell as many fakes as they can before getting closed down. Might be worth keeping an eye on if anyone wants to earn FAC dollars or get a bit of fake spotting experience.

I think I would have fallen for the Trajan Thanks for the warning bobby.

BTW there is a seller on ebay who is based in Ukraine, always has a lot of ancient coins (mainly silver) on sale. Maybe some of you have come across his listings? Just the location has me uneasy about the authenticity about his coins. Can anyone confirm if he is selling fakes or not? Sorry to derail the thread a bit but its somewhat relevant methinks.
