I know, I had said I would stay on the bandwagon after my Theodahad purchase, but this one and the next one I will be posting I got were cheap so I thought "why not? I don't have these emperors anyways". So here is the first of the two:

Carinus antoninianus

Obv: IMP CARINVS PF AVG

Rev: AETERNIT AVGG

I can see why it went for a low price due to the condition, yet Carinus is a hard to find emperor, even in AEs.
Great find!

Yes, they are kind of hard to find. I got my Carinus from Eddop last year.

Your Carinus is from Rome minted in august 283.
The obverse inscription is IMP C M AVR CARINVS AVG
The reverse: AETERNIT AVGG Aeternitas standing left holding phoenix on a globe & lifting skirt

exe. KAgamma

In RIC as 247c.

Really appreciate the attribution Eddop; it will of course be recorded in my excel when it arrives. I realized the obv legend I put was wrong shortly after I posted the thread but was in a hurry and didn't have the time to fix it.

I like how it can be pinned to a particular month. Pretty neat
