Hi all.

I'm a collector from Malaysia who collects error & variety of Malaysia coin. I restrict myself to collect only coin of my country, but apparently Lincoln cents are too interesting and now I start collect Lincoln.

So I bought few pieces of common Lincoln and found this one.

What kind of error is this? Are this common? Any additional value for it? Thanks in advance!

Through my eyes, it seems that this coin has parallel raised straight lines on the field area and on wide device area such as Lincoln effigy. I guess this is due to polished die?

mnfadzlyaj, you must have an interesting collection. Malaysia has some of the most dramatic errors I've seen.
There's too many Lincoln pros here for me to offer an explanation.

Quote:
striations:
Term for the incuse polish lines on the die which result in raised lines on coins. These are usually fine, parallel lines though on some coins they are swirling, still others with criss-cross lines. Planchet striations are burnishing lines not struck away by the minting process and are incuse on the coins.

Enjoy our cents, they will drive you nuts.

Thank you fioti and DrDon for the feedbacks.

From the feedbacks which I received, I think this is can be categorized as "roller lines".

By the way I think this coin has raised straight lines, and lines are visible on both surface in the same direction.
