Congrats. I don't often find pre 1936 CDN and I've only ever found Indian heads once

Well, things are getting tight now. I went to three separate banks yesterday, and found that pennies are already tough to get. One bank had a box, the second had only $18 worth, and the third had only $10! And you won't see stores hand out pennies in change after the 3rd, either, as they will have to ship all their pennies back to the banks by then. Penny finding won't slow down -- it'll come to a complete stop. Nasty.

I recruited my mother to ask for pennies. She does advertising stuff for CIBC and one of the banks she was at yesterday let her buy 13 boxes of older pennies. They had 7 boxes of new ones but I told her no for those since that is all I have been able to get from my bank.
The banks in my area (southern Alberta) did their last penny order yesterday and will ship all pennies back either this Thursday or next Thursday..
My local bank said she will sell me every penny that gets turned in after feb 4th. I hope others will as well as it saves them the cost and time of shipping them out.

That's sweet, Coin Chick! My banks won't release a single penny after this weekend at all. I've been told that they won't necessarily send them all back to the mint on the next truck heading over that way, but neither will they pass them out. A series collector hiding in their vaults?

Nice that you have that cool "in" at your bank. Grab every penny you can before the supply dries up!
