(cough cough) her bid...  Yep, I looked at it all week, have never purchased a coin before but decided I'd really enjoy owning it if it looked like there was not going to be bidding competition. So I put in a bid at the last minute. I have no plans to collect the series. We have only a small number of Shield nickels in our hoard and they're all corroded. Frankly, I wasn't much attracted to the Shield nickel design at first. But there was just something I really loved about this particular nickel. Impetuous maybe, frivolous maybe, but I am looking forward to admiring it in person. |

A) I had no idea you were female. B) Obviously, I didn't know you were the winner. I'm not exactly an expert on this series, but this coin is far and away the most interesting of the type I've ever seen. It was very difficult for me to walk away from it. Those are the most dramatic Retained Cuds imaginable. Way to go.  |

If you don't mind, how much were you will to go on this Nickel?  I was the only bidder on three items (pretty close to my max bid) with Great Collections, sometimes it works out that way, although I have not tried the last minute/seconds bid with them. Shipping usually took 3-4 days, and I don't remember it being sent Express Shipping, it was always First Class.  BTW...Sweet coin! I may have took a shot at it if that spot was not already filled. No problem at all! I figure that I would throw out a few for those who may want to "oooh and aaah" over!  Did you capture the BIG images for your "show and tell" sessions in upcoming threads? I keep images of all of my coins for inventory and insurance purposes. Edited by oih82w8
