Excellent coin!! I bet it looks even better in hand! Congrats, my highest so far is ms65, but even worse seems everything I send in now comes back ms 63. I would have said ms 65 Just because there are a lot of high grade coins from that year

I'm really surprised it came back MS66 I was gonna say 65. Though I love the color I don't see it being anywhere near PL. To be very honest its hard to get an early SF mint Morgan getting a DMPL or a PL. There are just so many awesome examples of of 79,80,81, 82 SF morgans that they just don't give out to many PL's.
Can you post a picture of the slabbed coin, would love to see it?

Sure it will be here the 15th. And honestly it's hard to judge a coin by the pictures we provide. It def has proof like surfaces. you can read writing on both sides when you do the test. I didn't ask for it to be graded pl or dmpl and maybe you had to

Great result! Congrats! There is no need to specify that they check for PL/DMPL. They will give it if they feels it meets the criteria on both sides.

That picture looks a lot bette,r looks like a 66 or better from that angle, and I see what you mean about the PL it does look PL in the pict. The worst part of showing/selling coins online is that getting a good picture is sometimes close to impossible. That is a great coin you have there when it comes time to sell please shoot me a pm I would love the chance to make an offer on it.

Looks even better than some of the NGC MS66 1880-S dollars I have. Nice grade, congrats on getting such a good grade from PCGS, they don't just hand out 65 or higher grades.
