Hey all,
I have been in the coin collecting hobby for a few years on and off. I was strolling through a antique store the other day and picked this coin up (cheap). I did a little bit of research online about it, but nothing of what I have seen so far is exactly like this one. It is a coin that says "Vice President of the United States" on one side, and then has Spiro Agnew's signature on the opposite side. I'm a little skeptical now, and thing this might just be a cheap ripoff, but I thought I would check to see if you have seen anything like this. I have seen pictures of inaugural coins similar to this, but have Nixon and Agnew's headshots on the one side.
I appreciate any input you may have.
Thanks.

What you have is actually a medal rather than a coin. It was struck by a private mint vs. the US Mint. I was able to find the medal listed in a few auctions via a quick Google search. Try "Spiro Agnew signature medal" as your search phrase.

This post might get more knowledgeable attention if it was moved to the Tokens and Medal forum.

ahhh I didn't even think about calling it a medal.
I searched that phrase, and everything I am seeing is what I was talking about in my original post- similar to what I have, but has Nixon and Agnew head shots on the one side of the coin. Like this: http://www.capitolcoin.com/Items/In...image008.jpg

The side with the seal also differs in this picture than the one that I took of my actual coin.

Thanks for the response.

Here's a link to some info I found using the search phrase I mentioned above: http://www.worthpoint.com/worthoped...ze-signature

No picture, but some useful info including mention of reference book that would likely have all of the info you are seeking.
